School Stuff

Yes, the kids are still in school. I'm not complaining - wait, yes I am! Don't worry, I will be complaining in a week that they are home!
Here's what they've been doing . . .

Ashlie became a 'Great Brain' on Russia - thanks to her fabulous grandma that spent two whole days with her - educating her on all things Russia! (Grandma's rock - mom was studying chemistry)

Cameron was the super talented, completely orange lizard in his school play. When it comes to lizards, this boy can act!

Cameron and best bud Keller. What would we do without our favorite Keller? Cameron's mom would go crazy, that's what!

Ashlie and Madeline in the school play. Ashlie was "some dude nobody ever heard of" in her class rendition of "Constitution Survivor"

Then there's Tay - the only kid NOT in school. She became a super styling non-makeup wearing pioneer for a few days. She came home with a great appreciation of beds, showers and flushing toilets!Posted by Picasa

Getting There

Started working with a trainer. Gained 30 pounds post-surgery. Feeling desperate to get it off. I am starting to run again this week. I hurts, but kind of in a good way. Wow, how I have missed my 5 AM workouts. I love watching the sun rise while I am out running. Unfortunately, I can only run short distances - for now. But I'm getting there and that's all that matters, right?

Question

Okay, I have a few questions for you, my fellow bloggers.

Here they are:

Where is the best place to camp at Lake Powell? Boat in spots??
(going to sneak down there for a few days in July and leave the chemistry books home)

Where do you recommend visiting on a vacation to Florida?
In all my travels, I have never been there!!
(City, preferably not Orlando, something near beautiful beaches, kid friendly)

Does anyone know a chemistry tutor?

Any response is appreciated!!

Good

Hit every light red today. Can't get my computer to behave. Yelled at my son to stop coughing (asthma and allergies and none of his meds are working.) Every time I went to the bathroom there was no toilet paper. Phone rang off the hook. - with stupid stuff - mostly problems I am suposed to somehow magically know how to fix. Stupid people saying stupid things that just piss me off. Kids make messes faster than I can clean up - and they are at school.

Not loving life today. I can't keep up with school, work, house, laundry, volunteering at the dental office - basically all the demands of being a wife and mother. I had to leave church yesterday because I was so angry.

Realized one year ago today I was running 30+ miles a week. Now I can barely run one without my insides feeling as if they are falling out.

Yelled at my son (who is 7 and the center of my world) to grow up - and I TOTALLY did not mean that in any way, shape or form. Just spewed out of my mouth before I could stop myself.
Please, someone, anyone tell me I am not alone in this mental and physical breakdown. Life will get better, right? Right? ANYONE???

If it sounds like I'm whining, I am.
Thanks for listening to me. My dear husband is getting tired.

I know, I know, I just need to remember
"My life is gooooood."

- Nacho Libre

It really is. I'm just not feeling it today.

Okay, I feel a little better after that rant.

Weary

Weary

- A feeling of being mentally fatigued.

Yes, that sounds about right!

Oohh and Aahh

The "after" graduation party was a phenomenal luau put on by Jill and Kaarina. I wanted to join in on the festivities, so I made fruit kabobs instead of a fruit tray. I was so impressed with myelf I had to share a pic of it!
Come on, you know you want to say it, ooohhhh, aaaahhhhh
If you want to recreate this amazing masterpiece at home, here is what you do:
1. Buy a ton of fruit - by ton, I do mean a ton.
2. Hollow out a watermelon - harder than it looks
3. Get your kids to help you skewer fruit in a colorful design
4. Stick the skewers in the hollowed out watermelon turned upside down
5. Take lots of pictures so you can show off on your blog.
Fun!!

Graduation Day

Meet Dr. Jeff and Dr. Ben. They are my brothers-in-law. They both graduated from Pharmacy School on Saturday. They received their doctorate degrees. Both have been in school for the last 7 years. 7 years! They inspired me to go back to school. It's all all their fault!

I am so proud of them - what an amazing event to witness!

Photos after the ceremony

My kids - cute as ever!

Couldn't miss a photo of Uncle Randy and The Boy

All the cousins got to gather for the event. What a great day!
Jeff, Ben, Jill, Kaarina, you are completely and totally amazing. I can't believe what you have accomplished. I feel so proud of all of you!!! (tearing up, again!)

All Things Crap

Today a group of "Crappy Friends" went to the taping of GTU to support our dear friend Char - the creator of the awesome blog Crap I've Made

Char demonstrated how to make fabulous bleached t-shirts - just like the ones we were wearing in the audience!

Fun was had by all - thanks for a great day ladies!

Two of My Favorite Things

Two of my favorite things are my boys - my big boy and THE boy.

I especially like THE boy when he is asleep! So quiet, so sweet, so innocent, so quiet . . .
(I wouldn't have him any other way!)
