My Baby, The Graduate

Cameron and Mrs. Gaetz, his Kindergarten teacher. She is the most amazing, loving, kind teacher I have ever known!

Cameron finishes Kindergarten today. He will be in first grade in about three weeks (gotta love this year-round school!) My face is leaking. I can't believe my baby is this old! How weird to be in the next stage of life - kids gone all day, no babies at home. It makes me sad. It makes me feel old. Life is always changing, fast.

An Hour of Fun

We finally caught a break in all the rainstorms and took the boat out to Utah Lake. The first and only time the boat has been on the water this summer! Though we are going to Lake Powell for the 4th. Hooray! (My first time, ever!)

Good Advice

My brother sent me this email - I liked it so much I want to share it with all my friends! Don't worry, it only takes a minute to read.

Written By Regina Brett, 90 years old, of The Plain Dealer, Cleveland, Ohio
"To celebrate growing older, I once wrote the 45 lessons life taught me. It is the most-requested column I've ever written."My odometer rolled over to 90 in August, so here is the column once more:
1. Life isn't fair, but it's still good.
2. When in doubt, just take the next small step.
3. Life is too short to waste time hating anyone.
4. Your job won't take care of you when you are sick. Your friends and parents will. Stay in touch.

Dinner...

Ashlie and I made THIS for dinner tonight. It was SO easy and SO delicious. I usually have leftovers after dinner. Not tonight. Every one of my kids asked for seconds. Delicious! If you try it, let me know if you like it... I think I am going to add it to my monthly recipe rotation.

If you have any staple recipes you make for dinner and wouldn't mind sharing them, I would love to have them! I feel I am in a cooking (dinner) rut.

Shout Out

To my AWESOME friend Casey who always listen to me whine and on a particulary whiney day, brought me a homemade RMCF caramel apple! If you have not had them, they are HEAVEN. Thanks Casey, you rock! You TOTALLY made my day.

One of THOSE days

Ever have one of those days when:

Your dog starts howling at something outside at 3:00 in the morning and you can't get back to sleep? (Now the dog is fast asleep!)

In spite of doing the very best you can, someone is still mad at you because it isn't good enough?

You and your husband both have to be somewhere at the same time but you have a sick kid?

You run outside to put something in the trash, without shoes on, only to step in dog poop that doesn't belong to your dog?

You get in the shower and realize you are the last one in and the water is ice cold?

Everything you put in your hands seems to fall through your fingers? (I.E. milk all over the counter front - didn't make it to the sink.)

Really, really bad hair day?

Really, really bad clothes/body day?

You realize it is only 9:00 in the morning and you can't go back to bed?

If you want to come to my pity party, you can find me at http://www.whinerbaby.com/ (not really)
