May Days

Another month has virtually flown by - here's what we've been up to at our house:

Mom finished finals (and passed, hooray!!)

We celebrated with a week-long rest at The Grand Mayan in Cancun with mom, dad, Auntie Les and Uncle Randy. Dare I say best trip ever?? Good times were had by all - with the exception of diarrhea day . . .

(Ashlie, Tia, Brax and Ty - cousins and fellow violinists, Cam, Tay and Laureen, our fabulous piano coach)

Violin recitals, principal pride and piano graduation - all in the same week! Ashlie played a beautiful rendition of Mosquito Dance and Pacabel's Canon, Cameron was "prided" at school for getting (yet, again) 100 percent on his spelling test and darling, ever so talented Tay received her Suzuki graduation for level 5. Only two books left and she is finished with her Suzuki literature! Feeling very much like a proud mama this week. All three kids - amazing accomplishments!

Now mom is back in school (studying chemistry - not a fan), kids are preparing to go "off-track" for the last time (sounds like year-round school is in our past, not our future - another hooray) and our dad is itching to get the boat out. Not likely to happen as we woke up to snow - in May!

Hello

Hi, remember me? A runner girl who can't run? Just returned from beautiful, sunny, warm Playa del Carmen in Cancun, Mexico. Heaven on earth! I will post some pics as soon as I learn to use my new computer.

In the running world, congratulations to my friends that finished the Ogden Marathon last Saturday. Way to go!

And congrats to awesome Jami who just finished her first 1/2 Marathon.

Runners rule!

A Busy Month

April was busy, crazy and seemed to just fly by!
Ashlie received a Principle Pride award for doing her schoolwork! (Not a fan of the principle pride - but that's a whole other rant and rave)
Ashlie also got PUNK'D by big sis. All I can say is someday Ash will be as big as big sis and then she better watch out!
The boy had yet ANOTHER photo op with his best friend, Hot Dog

Mom took 1 final (aced it!) and 1 midterm (aced it!) and started studying for another final.
Mom also had another surgery - but all went well. Healing is slow, but it is healing. Mom is still not allowed to run and it is making her feel very grumpy.

My Mom and Dad with the good 'ol Coleman camp trailer (it is a 1977 Coleman tent trailer). This is the trailer I grew up camping in- such fond memories. Mom and Dad gave it to me - I just passed it on to my sis. We don't use it now that we have the boat.

Mom and Dad had very fond memories of the trailer and came over to say goodbye.

Here they are again - saying their farewells to the good 'ol camping house.
Dad didn't look so well - said he was just tired. I kept bugging him - asking if he was feeling okay.
He ended up having a massive heart attack the next morning.
We are very lucky he is alive! Doctors kept telling us they didn't think he would make it. He still has two very blocked arteries, so everyone is taking turns watching him carefully.
So we spent last week at the hospital with Dad.
Very exciting - not the kind of excitement I really like, though.
Just glad Dad is okay. Not ready to lose him!

Mom is now studying for one last final.
Chris is cleaning the snorkel gear in anticipation of our end of semester celebration (in Cancun)
Kids are moping around the house because they are not invited.
Dog is feeling anxious because he knows we're leaving.
Hopefully May will be a little less eventful.
