Happy Valentine's Day!!

For those of you (Char and Casey) that played the "fun things" on my blog, I hope you enjoyed the cookies! For the rest of you, this is what you missed . . . yummy! Notice the wrapping - because as Darin always says, "presentation is everything"!

This is my final attempt at Valentine box perfection. Camp Rock/Jonas Brothers for Ashlie. Thank heavens I only had to do two because my fingers have had it. I have burned all the skin off two fingers with the hot glue gun. (Very coordinated.) But Ashlie is happy with it, so that is all that matters. Happy Valentine's Day!!!

Finally . .

Pictures from the Moab XC last November, 2008. The hardest, worst race I have ever completed! I believe I was 3rd from LAST. But I finished, that is all that I cared about!
I took off my shoes as soon as I finished. My feet were raw from rubbing against wet, red sand. I ruined my brand new running shoes. Yuck!

Too Good Not To Share

I made these Peanut Butter Bars for our Superbowl party. The kids devoured them. They are so good, I have to share:
1 C butter, melted
2 C graham cracker crumbs
2 C powdered sugar
1 C plus 4T peanut butter, divided
1 1/2 C chocolate chips

Mix the butter, graham crackers, powdered sugar and 1 C peanut butter until well blended. Press evenly into an ungreased 9X13 inch pan.

Microwave chocolate chips and 4T peanut butter on high for 1 min. Stir and continue microwaving in 30 second intervals until smooth. Spreak over peanut butter crust. Refrigerate for at least one hour. I think they tast best chilled. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator.
I hope you enjoy these - my family sure did!

Help!

Now that I am injured and can't run this week, what am I supposed to do with my time?

Injured

Went to the doctor today because my hip has been hurting since the January half. I have bursitis in my hip and I am not allowed to lift weights or run at all this week. The doctor gave me this wonderful cortizone shot so now I can actually sit in a chair or lie on my side and it won't kill me (and I will actually be able to sleep)! But now I am starting to freak out a little because I have another half on April 18. I get really, really p*$@% when I have to miss my training runs and workouts! Getting old really, really sucks . . .

Why???

Why can't I find a pair of women's running shoes in a color that I like? What happened to good old girly pink? I am girly, I like pink. So why can't I get pink running shoes? Or at least something that will match my running clothes? Seriously, could someone please coordinate running shoe manufacturing with running clothing manufacturing? I am just not into fluorescent green. Maybe I should go buy the shoes first, then get the clothing to match. Huh - I didn't think of that!

I Love to See the Temple

Our family went to the Draper Temple open house today. It was wonderful! What a beautiful temple. My nephew, who is 11, came with us. This was his first experience inside any temple. He was so excited. His exact words were "this is the best day of my life. I would not have missed this for the whole world. There are amazing spritis in here." To hear him say that really touched me. I couldn't believe how amazing the feeling was. It is well worth the time to go and see it.

Hot Wheels - Beat That!

Have I mentioned Cameron is obsessed with Hot Wheels? So, naturally, when his kindergarten teacher told the class they could make Valentine boxes he immediately insisted on a Hot Wheels box. This is what we came up with. We used a Hot Wheels gift sack left from his birthday. We also used a lot of hot glue and some authentic Hot Wheels cars and tracks. Cameron was very happy with it and asked me to put a picture of it on my computer. Chris told Cameron his mom was pretty smart to have figured this out. So Cameron says "my mom isn't smart - she's awesome!" That's got to make an old lady feel good . . .

Thursday

Yeah, it's Thursday! That means The Office is on tonight!! Can't wait . . .
FuN!!
I am copying Casey's idea - here we go!

Lucky you! The first five people to respond to this post will get something made by me! My choice. For you. This offer does have some restrictions and limitations:

1- I make no guarantees that you will like what I make!

2- What I create will be just for you.

3- It'll be done this year. (might be a little while)

4- You have no clue what it's going to be. It may be a story. It may be poetry or an article on properly cleaning your face before a masque. I may draw or paint something. I may bake you something and mail it to you. Who knows? Not you, that's for sure!

5- I reserve the right to do something extremely strange. The catch? Oh, the catch is that you must repost this on your blog and offer the same to the first 5 people who do the same on your blog. The first 5 people to do so and leave a comment telling me they did win a FAB-U-LOUS homemade gift by me! Oh, and be sure to post a picture of what you win when you get it!
